Walk-Thru Customizing Affiliate Based and/or Dynamic Tokenized Banner Ads

Simple integration steps necessary to use banner ads from merchants to help you promote their products/services.

Listed below are the simple steps (there's only two, don't sweat it!) to integrate a merchant's affiliate-based banner ad into your sites. Again, don't sweat it, it's extremely simple, whether you have your own server or not! And it's extremely flexible on how you do it!

Let's proceed!

It seems you've been sent here to help you quickly setup a banner ad with your customized affiliate links... Great! Simply follow the 2 Steps below to get it done quickly and simply!

We're going to help you promote using this QuickBannerAds Banner Ad!

Listed below are the specific details for the referenced QuickBannerAd Banner Ad above.

It seems you're using the Dynamic or Affiliate Feature on this Ad

One of the most unique capabilities is for QuickBannerAds to use dynamic "on-the-fly" input into the banner ads here at QuickBannerAds. This ad you're wanting to use and promote is one of them. Let's get the code necessary for you to promote using this powerfully captivating and traffic-driving ad!

Step 1: Copy/Paste the following HTML into your Website

Take the HTML that you've been provided, and paste it anywhere on your salespage, mini-site, membership area, splash page or blog - anywhere where you can enter HTML. Just make sure it's inside the <BODY> tags.

Highlight "Code"

Anything placed after the xxxxxxxx.swf in the above code, will be APPENDED to the already existing Viral/Share URL and Affiliate ("Money") URL that was used when this banner ad was created, using QuickBannerAds.

Step 2: Copy/Paste the SCRIPT references in your Website

Since you're using this ad's dynamic features, it's critically important for it to be cross-browser compatible when using parameters in accessing your particular banner ad - order for it to work properly, and to do such, make sure that the following lines of HTML are placed into the <HEAD> tag area of your website. This might be in a header template or another type of file that typically gets applied to your entire site.

If you're already using jQuery on your site somehow, then great.. you just need to include these 2 (two) script-tag lines references, in this order, somewhere in your website page where the ad will be appearing.
Preferably, these should be in the <HEAD> of your site.

Highlight "Code" Above

If you're not currently using jQuery, no problem! Just use the following 3 (three) script-tag lines references, in this order, somewhere in your website page where the ad will be appearing.
Preferably, these should be in the <HEAD> of your site.

Highlight "Code" Above

Extra Step optional: Download and host the javascript reference files on your domain

Some of you would probably like to host the javascript files on your own domain and that's fine! Just make sure that if we make any adjustments that you're quick to make those adjustments on all of your domains. We don't expect any, but you never know.

So, if you want to host them, click on the download link below and it'll include the two .js files. Included are the 3 files that are referenced above, if you want to use a static jquery library file in place of the google referenced jquery library, then you can go to jquery.com to download a copy of the particular version of the library needed... make sure it's at least greater than v 1.3 - OR use the one included in the .zip file below.

Download All 3 Files

You'd still set it up like as in Step 2 above, but changing the path from ('http://quickbannerads.com/js/') to wherever you placed them (ie. 'http://yourdomain.com/js/').

But, but, but what about...?

We realize that some of you might have some questions on this and making sure you do it right, so you can always feel free to ask us questions at helpdesk.

We also equally realize that there are a few questions that keep coming up and those we knew you'd ask ahead of time, those are below... please take the time to review these first, before submitting a helpdesk ticket, as we're already very excitedly busy at all the buzz around QuickBannerAds.

Can't I just use my own version of jQuery on my site?

Yes, you probably can, try it with using the other HTML and SCRIPT tag references above - only using your own version of jQuery, ... if the ad appears, then there's no issue at all... we developed our code only to make using affiliate use/dynamic use of our banner ads (which is an exclusive and very covert feature at QuickBannerAds) extremely powerful and easy.(it's small and viewable - take a look!).

Is there any benefit to having the javascript files hosted on the QuickBannerAds domain?

Yes, we believe so... (it might add an extra 200-300 milliseconds to your load time, because it's on our servers, but this makes it easier for you to use the ads on multiple domains, sites, etc... and not having to worry about each individual path and having multiple copies of the .js files located on multiple servers. Plus! We host our site on a fully-dedicated Rackspace™ Server! We pay over $500 per month just to keep it pumping with a health server heart!

Can't I just use the normal EMBED HTML code and put the SWF file respectively with its affilite/dynamic information in the querystring on the webpage?

Flat out NO!

Here's why... with a major upgrade to Flash 9+ and beyond, there are major compatability issues with browser types, flash versions and sending querystring parameters both in the 'flashvars' parameter of the embed/object code, as well as in the EMBED "src" attribute itself. So, in order for the dynamic cability to work, you must use the swfobject.js (to have the object built where you want it - ie. where the DIV tag is located) and the qba.js file to look for the 'DIV' tags with the CLASS='qba' and the correct dynamic url path to the banner ad in the 'REL' attribute.

Can I put more than one ad on a single page?

Yes,... but you might want to consider from your visitors point of view, how many they can 'really handle!' These banner ads are designed to attract an immense amount of eyeball-grabbin' attention... too many might send someone into visual shock and cause them to get sick and vomit on their mouse and then not be able to physically click the ad itself... seroiusly though... you might want to keep it to a maximum of 3... unless you're thinking of changing the dimensions of the ads (see 'Can I change the dimensions of my already produced banner ad to something smaller?')

Can I change the dimensions of my already produced banner ad to something smaller?

Yes,... all you need to do is add two parameters to your 'DIV' tag (ie. qbaw=150 qbah=150) and the qba.js will pick that up and make that ad only 150 pixels wide and 150 pixels in height. THIS is an absolutely great feature of this QuickBannerAds as we try to offer you as much flexibility as possible... think about it... at a width of 150x150 flash banner ad, you could - I SAID COULD! put numerous ads on one page in say a sidebar such as any membership driven site,... blog-type of setup, where it's expected to have a certain set of banner ads on the right side to monetize the particular site!

Can I, or can it ...?

Yes, ... probably, but ask us at our helpdesk! Most of what you'd need to know is in the above, but we also understand that you might need help. Also, if you're a Merchant with a desire to use our services on a magnified scale that woudl exceed 50,000 unique hits per day, please contact us at our helpdesk.
